Beer Label of the Week will be a regular feature. We’ll pick an interesting craft beer label each week. It will be entirely based on the beer’s label, not the quality of the beer. We’ll stick with “craft beer” labels though…you have to have standards you know.
This week we feature the just announced Flipside Red IPA from Sierra Nevada. This is a new Fall seasonal that will likely be in Sierra Nevada’s rotation for years to come.
I don’t know who artist is but the style of this label reminds me of Sierra Nevada’s other recent seasonal Ruthless Rye. Ken Taylor did the art work for Ruthless. Dark and richly detailed like something from a graphic novel. This great label makes me even more excited to try what is sure to be a fantastic beer. It depicts a massive valley oak with the silhouette of the Sierra Nevada mountain range in the background.
Flipside is a tribute to the seasonal change from the triple digit heat of Chico California Summers to the welcomed cool breezes of Fall.
Just when it feels like the dog days will never end, suddenly, the switch is flipped, the air gets cooler and it’s clear that autumn is on the way. Featuring a ruby-red hue and abundant tropical fruit and citrus hop flavors, Flipside Red IPA is the perfect beer for the final flash of summer.
