Beer Label of the Month: Tröegs Nugget Nectar

I really like the serigraphed simplicity of all of Tröegs‘ labels. They remind me of local Chico artists Jake Early. Tröegs, located across the country in Hershey Pennsylvania, was started by brothers Chris and John Trogner in 1997.

Nugget Nectar is an Imperial Amber, which isn’t a BJCP style but sounds delicious. Nugget Nectar is a souped up version of Tröegs’ GABF gold medal winning Hopback Amber.

Tröegs’ labels are created by an in-house graphic design team. It must be nice to have employees so skilled in graphic design along with whatever their normal daily job is. The Nugget Nectar label features a hand squeezing “nectar” from a gigantic hop cone. The simple colors and nice artwork create an eye-catching label. The seriagraph style comes from screen printing where you only have a few colors to work with at a time. You know you’re in for a hoppy beer with this label, and at “93-ish” IBUs I’m sure it doesn’t disappoint.
